A Thought on Titles in the Craft
I had written this a while back on my Eclectic Green Witchery Website - I thought it was a good topic and wanted to repost it. 🙃
As more individuals find their path into the craft, it’s only natural that new terminology emerges—especially in a society that often feels compelled to label every facet of identity and experience.
Lately, I’ve seen newcomers refer to themselves with terms like “baby witch,” “witchling,” and—brace yourself—“fetus witch.” That last one, I admit, made me cringe.😐
To put it in perspective: imagine a Master Blacksmith introducing his new apprentice with, “This is Dave, my baby blacksmith.” It just doesn’t convey the dedication or respect the role deserves.
Of course, your practice is yours, and so is your identity. If you want to call yourself “chicken soup,” go for it! Your path is your own, and no one has the authority to define it for…
